Tikus Kota dan Tikus Desa

Aesop adalah seorang pendongeng (storyteller) yang hidup di Yunani sekitar 600 tahun sebelum Masehi. Yang istimewa dari Aesop adalah, ia menuangkan kebijakannya atau kadang kritikannya dalam bentuk cerita binatang atau fabel.

Pada suatu hari, tikus kota berkunjung ke sepupunya, tikus desa. Mereka sudah lama tidak jumpa.
Tikus desa gembira bukan main, dikeluarkannya semua makanan yang ada untuk tamunya. Ada remah jagung, singkong dan sedikit padi-padian.
